Jo Young-il Appointed as the 75th Chief of Gwangju Dongbu Police Station
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Jo Young-il, former Criminal Division Chief of Gwangju Police Agency, has been appointed as the Chief of Gwangju Dongbu Police Station.
Jo, the 75th new chief, stated in his inaugural address, "The ultimate goal of police activities is 'citizen safety, citizen happiness,' and I will ensure that the security philosophy of the Commissioner General of the National Police Agency and the Chief of Gwangju Police Agency is faithfully implemented on the ground."
He also said, "We will become a reliable police force for citizens, a fair and vibrant police, and achieve the goal of a safe Dong-gu and happy citizens."

Chief Jo graduated from the 9th class of the Korean National Police University and was commissioned as a lieutenant in 1993. He has served as the Chief of Jindo Police Station in Jeonnam Province, Chief of Suncheon Police Station in Jeonnam Province, and Criminal Division Chief of Gwangju Police Agency.
