Namwon-si Successfully Concludes Jeongwol Daeboreum Daljip Burning Event

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] The Geumdong Development Council (Chairman Choi Jae-woo) and Geumdong Administrative Welfare Center (Chief Yoon Yong-han) in Namwon-si, Jeonbuk, announced on the 6th that the ‘Daljip Burning’ event was successfully concluded on the 5th at the farmland in front of Namwon City Health Center to celebrate the Jeongwol Daeboreum of the Year of the Black Rabbit.

Starting with talisman kite flying, wish writing, and a prayer ceremony, the Jeongwol Daeboreum ‘Daljip Burning’ event, which prays for abundance and warding off evil spirits, was attended by about 500 people including Mayor Choi Kyung-sik, key internal and external guests, and citizens.

This event was revived and held for the first time in four years since it was last held in Jukhang-dong in 2019, after various local festivals and events were converted to non-face-to-face formats due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Through this Jeongwol Daeboreum Daljip Burning event, citizens chased away bad luck from their homes, made wishes for the new year, and enjoyed various activities such as sharing nuts, five-grain rice, and Gwibalg-i liquor together with a pungmul band.

Choi Jae-woo, chairman of the Geumdong Development Council, and Yoon Yong-han, chief of Geumdong, said, “This meaningful event was filled with the energy of the first full moon of the Year of the Black Rabbit, burning away all troubles in the Daljip, making wishes for the year, and feeling a sense of abundance and harmony.”
