New COVID-19 Cases at 5,850... Lowest in Over 7 Months (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Byeon Seon-jin] As the COVID-19 outbreak slows down, the number of new confirmed cases has dropped to the lowest in over seven months.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 6th at midnight that 5,850 new COVID-19 cases were added, bringing the total to 30,263,261 cases.
The number of new cases decreased by 8,168 from the previous day (14,018) due to the weekend effect. Compared to a week ago on the 30th (7,412 cases), it decreased by 1,562 cases. This is the lowest figure in 224 days since June 27 last year (3,419 cases).
Among the new confirmed cases, 20 were imported from overseas.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized is 289, down by 24 from the previous day. The number of critically ill patients falling below 300 is the first time in four months since November 3 last year (290 patients).
