The nine local writers appointed that day plan to provide regional-based information such as return-to-farming and return-to-village policies and rural life through various content until December.
A Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Local Writer refers to a reporter who posts on personal social network services (SNS) about rural life introduction, discovering livable villages, and success stories of return-to-farming and return-to-village, mainly among Yeonggwang residents who are returnees to farming and villages.
The county has been operating local writers since 2021, and until last year, a total of 10 local writers created about 400 pieces of content.
Mr. Shin 00 (Myo-ryang-myeon, 38 years old), a young farmer in his fourth year of return-to-farming who is participating as a local writer for the first time this year, said, "After living in Yeonggwang, I realized there is a unique affection in rural villages that I did not know before returning to farming," and added, "I hope to introduce these stories to urban residents hoping to return to farming so that many returnees will move into the village."
Ko Yoonja, head of the Yeonggwang-gun Agricultural Technology Center, said, "The local writer activity is a meaningful effort to create a Yeonggwang where government and citizens want to live together," and added, "Please do your best to be a catalyst for the determination of urban residents who are interested in return-to-farming and return-to-village."
