Jeonnam Fire Department Breaks a Sweat in Special Winter Water Rescue Training
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Department worked hard on special training to prepare for winter water accidents.
On the 30th, according to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, the Jeonnam 119 Special Rescue Team conducted the 2023 winter water special rescue training at Baemsagol Valley in Namwon-si, Jeonbuk.
This training was promoted to enhance the special environment adaptability of rescue team members, such as underwater search in severe cold, and to improve the response capability for life rescue in winter water accidents.
The special rescue team drilled holes in the ice at the entry (exit) points, conducted circular, back-and-forth, and two-person team underwater searches, practiced rope-based hand signals, and simulated emergency situations such as hypothermia response for drowning victims.
They focused on winter disaster preparedness specialized training, including ▲winter diving safety procedures ▲improving underwater search and rescue capabilities ▲enhancing emergency response capabilities due to freezing of breathing equipment ▲education on safety accident cases during winter water accidents.
