Mask Mandate Lifted in Venues Such as Performance Halls and Movie Theaters
"Request for Voluntary Mask Wearing for the Time Being"
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 30th that the indoor mask-wearing mandate has been lifted in venues such as performance halls, movie theaters, and indoor sports facilities. However, only the national-level mandatory measures subject to fines have been lifted, and they urged people to voluntarily wear masks for the time being. The Central Disease Control Headquarters recommends mask-wearing in the following cases: ▲ if symptomatic or high-risk individuals ▲ if in contact with symptomatic or high-risk individuals ▲ if recently exposed to a confirmed case (wear masks for 2 weeks) ▲ in poorly ventilated 3C (Closed, Crowded, Close-contact) environments ▲ in situations where many people are densely gathered and droplets are generated through shouting, singing, or conversation. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official expressed gratitude for the active cooperation in quarantine measures despite the severe difficulties faced by domestic performance halls, movie theaters, and indoor sports facilities due to COVID-19, and stated, "We ask viewers to voluntarily wear masks for the time being so that the efforts made to create a safe viewing environment are not diminished."
