Changnyeong-gun Selects Key Figures to Lead the Future of Korean Kendo
University and National Team Reserve Selection Tournament Held
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] From the 27th to the 30th, a 4-day event, the "2023 National University Kendo Winter League and University·National Team Reserve Selection Tournament," will be held in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam.
This tournament, held at the Changnyeong National Sports Center, is hosted by the Korea University Kendo Federation, organized by the Changnyeong-gun Kendo Association, and sponsored by Changnyeong-gun. About 300 participants from 27 men's teams and 8 women's teams belonging to 19 universities nationwide will take part.

View original imageThe matches will be conducted as men's and women's individual and team events. In the individual events, university reserve teams and national representatives will be selected, while the team events will be held as team league matches.
An official from the county stated, "This tournament is an important event to select the future leaders who will lead Kendo in our country," and added, "We will operate the tournament without any issues so that the athletes can fully demonstrate their honed skills."
