Korail "2.12 Million Train Passengers During 5 Days of Lunar New Year Special Transport"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 25th that a total of 2.12 million people used trains during the Lunar New Year special transportation period (20th to 24th).
KTX carried 1.31 million passengers (an average of 260,000 per day), and regular trains carried 810,000 passengers (an average of 160,000 per day).
The day with the highest number of passengers during this period was the 20th, the day before the holiday began, when a total of 440,000 people visited train stations. The average daily number of passengers was 420,000, about twice as many as last year's Lunar New Year when only window seats were sold.
