Supplying Milk to 'Jageun School'... Ulsan City Selected for School Milk Feeding Program Competition
Secured 180 Million KRW in National Funds to Provide Free Support for 1,800 People
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulsan City has been selected for this year's school milk supply expansion contest project, securing 180 million won in national funding.
In this contest hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Ulsan City, in collaboration with the Ulsan Office of Education and district and county governments, submitted a project plan to expand free milk supply for students attending "jageun hakgyo" (small schools) and was chosen as the final project recipient.
Ulsan City has been supporting free milk supply for 12,500 socially disadvantaged individuals annually with a project budget of 1.5 billion won, but with this selection, additional free milk supply support is now possible for students attending small schools.
The support targets 1,800 students from 17 elementary, middle, and high schools among 27 small schools that applied to participate in the project, and all of them will receive free milk supply throughout this year.
