Gwangju Dong-gu Council Holds Traditional Market Shopping Event for Lunar New Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Dong-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City held a traditional market shopping event on the 18th to celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Dong-gu Council conducted the shopping event at traditional markets within the district, including Namgwangju Market, Daein Market, and Sansu Market, to revitalize the traditional markets and local economy, which have been depressed due to COVID-19, high oil prices, and high inflation.
Chairman Kim Jae-sik and all council members visited three traditional markets in the district to purchase ritual items and urged residents to use traditional markets to help revitalize them amid severe cold and economic recession.
