Jangseong-gun Expands Support for 'Postpartum and Newborn Health Care Services'
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that it will expand postpartum mother and newborn health care services as well as diaper and formula support in the new year.
The postpartum mother and newborn health care support project is a service where a health manager visits families using the National Happiness Card voucher to provide health care for mothers and newborns, provide information to mothers, assist with household activities, and offer emotional support.
This year, the price standard for 15 days of service for the first child has increased by 120,000 KRW from the previous year to 1,992,000 KRW, and the government subsidy has also risen by 67,000 KRW to 1,195,000 KRW.
The support amount varies from 410,000 KRW to a maximum of 5,440,000 KRW depending on income, birth order, and days of service used.
The diaper and formula support project provides financial assistance for purchasing diapers and formula through the National Happiness Card voucher. Diaper support is 80,000 KRW per month, and formula support is 100,000 KRW per month, each increased by 10,000 KRW compared to last year.
Eligible recipients for diaper support include basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class, and single-parent families with children under 2 years old, as well as persons with disabilities with income below 80% of the median income and multi-child families.
Among diaper support recipients, those in child welfare facilities, foster child families, or cases where breastfeeding is impossible due to the mother's death or illness can apply for formula support funds.
Applications can be made by visiting the local public health center or administrative welfare center, or online through the ‘Bokjiro’ website.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the health policy team at the public health center.
The county is also promoting various support projects such as health checkups for newlyweds (including prospective couples), infertility treatment expenses, medical expenses for high-risk pregnant women, medical expenses for adolescent mothers’ pregnancy and childbirth, registration and health management of pregnant women, and operation of prenatal health classes.
