60s Male Complaining of Abdominal Pain on Jeju Chujado 'Emergency Transport'
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] A man in his 60s who complained of abdominal pain on Chuja Island, Jeju City, was urgently transported by the Jeju Coast Guard.
According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 11th, a report was received that a man in his 60s who complained of abdominal pain was examined at the Chuja Island Health Center at 8:17 PM the previous day, and appendicitis was suspected, requiring transfer to a higher-level emergency medical institution for accurate examination and treatment.
Upon receiving the report, the Jeju Coast Guard dispatched a 500-ton patrol vessel patrolling the nearby waters, arriving in front of Shinyang Port, Chuja Island, at around 9:50 PM. They received the emergency patient Mr. A and guardian Mr. B, a total of two people, from the Chuja Police Substation coastal rescue boat, and arrived at Jeju Port at 11:37 PM, safely handing them over to the waiting 119 ambulance team.
A Jeju Coast Guard official said, “This is the first time this year that an emergency patient from Chuja Island was transported by a patrol vessel,” adding, “We will do our best to protect the lives of the people in preparation for emergency patients in island areas and at sea.”
