The location for this company's New Year's kick-off ceremony is unique. Instead of the company or production site, employees gathered at national cemeteries across the country.
LIG Nex1 (CEO Kim Ji-chan) held a "Patriotic Kick-off Ceremony" at three national cemeteries?Seoul National Cemetery, Daejeon National Cemetery, and Yeongcheon National Cemetery?to mark the Year of the Rabbit, taking time to reaffirm patriotism as a leading defense company in South Korea.
On the morning of the 4th, Chairman Koo Bon-sang, CEO Kim Ji-chan, and employees from the Pangyo and Yongin sites paid their respects at the Seoul National Cemetery.
They commemorated the sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs and war heroes who devoted themselves to protecting the country, marking the start of the year's work. They offered incense at the Memorial Tower and visited the 30th burial site, with which they have a sisterhood relationship, pledging to strive for South Korea's self-reliant defense.
After the visit, Chairman Koo Bon-sang left a message in the guestbook: "The construction of a new Republic of Korea begins with the noble sacrifices of the war heroes. We will all unite with the determination of Eungbyeon Changsin (應變創新, Adaptation and Innovation)!"
On the same day, employees from the Gumi and Daejeon sites also visited the Yeongcheon National Cemetery and Daejeon National Cemetery, respectively, dedicating themselves to the development and mass production of advanced domestic weapons.
The "Patriotic Kick-off Ceremony," established as LIG Nex1's representative veterans event, began in 2004 when the company formed a relationship with the Seoul National Cemetery.
As the company expanded to regions with the Daejeon National Cemetery and Yeongcheon National Cemetery, it signed business agreements with three national cemeteries nationwide. LIG Nex1 is the only defense company in South Korea that has sisterhood relationships with burial sites and conducts cleanup activities.
