Ministry of Justice Publishes English Version of 'Guide to Business and Human Rights'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] On the 3rd, the Ministry of Justice announced that it published the English version of the "Guide to Business and Human Rights" on December 30th last year to help companies practice their responsibility to respect human rights according to international human rights norms. The English version is posted on the Ministry of Justice website in e-book (PDF) format, allowing anyone, including human rights management officers of foreign companies operating in Korea and Korean companies expanding overseas, to easily utilize it in their work.
The "Guide to Business and Human Rights" is a manual that presents practical measures for respecting human rights tailored to the size and characteristics of companies, based on the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. The Korean version was published on December 23, 2021.
The Ministry of Justice promoted this publication by accepting suggestions from Korean companies regarding the global trend of institutionalizing business and human rights and the demand for an English version.

The Ministry of Justice stated that it will continue to "actively support human rights-friendly corporate activities in line with global trends to spread a culture of respecting human rights and enhance the international competitiveness of Korean companies."
