Senior Officials Lead by Example in Practicing Integrity, Striving to Implement Honest Administration
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 2nd that it held a New Year's kick-off ceremony to start the 2023 municipal administration along with an anti-corruption and integrity practice pledge rally attended by about 150 senior officials and others.
This pledge rally was organized to strengthen the commitment to integrity by having Suncheon’s senior officials take the lead in eradicating corruption and fostering a clean public service culture.
The city declared its commitment to integrity both internally and externally through a resolution that included ▲ fair and transparent work processing ▲ clean and honest organizational culture ▲ prohibition of accepting money or gifts ▲ compliance with the public officials' code of conduct.
In his New Year's address, Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu said, “Our goal for 2023 is the successful Garden Expo to leap forward as a first-class Suncheon,” emphasizing the city’s ambition to become a hub city in the Southern Coast Belt through the successful hosting of the 2023 Garden Expo. He added, “Suncheon can move toward the future only when citizens join together, and I along with about 2,000 public officials will do our best, trusting only in the dignity and capabilities of our citizens.”
Last year, Suncheon City implemented 24 policies to achieve visible results in anti-corruption and integrity, including ▲ integrity consulting led by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission ▲ Integrity broadcast to start the morning ▲ integrity education for all employees ▲ integrity surveys for senior officials ▲ and civil complaint satisfaction surveys.
