View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] Regarding North Korea's launch of three short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea on the 31st, the United States stated that it does not pose an immediate threat to the U.S. or its allies.
The U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, which oversees U.S. Forces Korea, said in a statement immediately after North Korea's missile launch, "The United States' commitment to the defense of South Korea and Japan remains steadfast."
The Indo-Pacific Command added, "This launch violates multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions and poses a threat to neighboring countries and the international community," further stating, "It clearly demonstrates the destabilizing impact of North Korea's weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and ballistic missile programs on regional security."
