Imsil-gun Secures 122.1 Billion KRW National Budget for Next Year... Momentum for Current Projects
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, has secured a total of 122.1 billion KRW in national budget for new projects in the new year, including the Osu Urban Regeneration Activation Project (21.7 billion KRW), Osu World Famous Dog Theme Land Construction Project (18 billion KRW), and Okjeongho National Ecological Exploration Trail (7.5 billion KRW).
According to the county on the 30th, next year's main budget is 526.1 billion KRW, marking the fourth consecutive year of maintaining a budget over 500 billion KRW since 2020, when it first entered the 500 billion KRW budget era.
In particular, in 2022, the final supplementary budget settlement recorded 664.3 billion KRW, realizing the first-ever 600 billion KRW budget era, achieving results that raise expectations for an 800 billion KRW budget era within the term of the 8th elected administration.
Throughout 2022, County Governor Shim Min led efforts to secure national budgets by frequently traveling between Jeonbuk Province, central government ministries, and the National Assembly.
As a result, the county secured national budgets for numerous new projects, including the World Famous Dog Theme Land Construction Project, expansion and improvement of Osu Public Sewage Treatment Facility (17.1 billion KRW), maintenance of aging sewage pipelines in Imsil Public Sewage Treatment Area (14.8 billion KRW), Gangjin Singi Natural Disaster Risk Zone Maintenance (6.2 billion KRW), undergrounding project for school routes at Imsil Elementary School (3.5 billion KRW), and Unam Artificial Wetland Nonpoint Pollution Reduction Project (2.5 billion KRW).
Active efforts in public contest projects also resulted in the selection of a total of 30 projects, including Osu District Urban Regeneration Activation (21.7 billion KRW), Okjeongho National Ecological Exploration Trail Construction (7.5 billion KRW), and Okjeongho Barrier-Free Sharing Road Construction (1.8 billion KRW), securing a total project cost of 44.74 billion KRW.
Additionally, in the 5th National and Local Road 5-Year Plan (’21~’25), the design costs for the Imsil Cheongung~Imsil two-lane improvement project (41.2 billion KRW) and Imsil Seongsu~Jinan Baegun two-lane improvement project (48.4 billion KRW) were newly reflected in next year’s budget, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to proceed with the design from the new year.
Furthermore, in the 7-stage Basic Plan for Risk Road and Bottleneck Improvement (’23~’27) announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, a total of 10 projects, including National Road No. 17 ▲Gwanchon Samgeori (Gwanchon-ri) Intersection Improvement (18 billion KRW), ▲Gwanchon District (Deokcheon-ri) Risk Road Improvement (10 billion KRW), and ▲Osu Naedong Intersection Improvement (3 billion KRW), were included, securing a total project cost of 87.1 billion KRW, which is expected to dramatically improve the county’s transportation system.
Governor Shim Min said, “Following the 6th and 7th elected administrations, as the 8th administration newly begins, I have worked with determination to lay the cornerstone for the Seomjingang Renaissance Ten Million Tourism Imsil Era.” He added, “I will do my best so that these achievements serve as a catalyst for the county to accelerate new growth and development in the new year.”
