Lim Young-woong 'Love Always Runs Away'
Number 1 on Kumyoung Karaoke Annual Chart
Lim Young-woong's hit song 'Love Always Runs Away' was found to be the most sung song in karaoke this year.
Geumyoung Entertainment, which operates Geumyoung Karaoke, announced on the 30th that this song ranked first on the Geumyoung Karaoke 2022 annual chart. 'Love Always Runs Away' was loved by holding the number one spot on the weekly chart for 29 consecutive weeks from the third week of December last year to the first week of July this year. It also took first place on the monthly chart for six consecutive months from January to June this year.
The second place on the annual chart was Lim Chang-jung's 'A Glass of Soju', third was So Chan-hwi's 'Tears', fourth was Buzz's 'Thorn', and fifth was Kim Min-seok's 'Confession While Drunk'. Following them, Lee Mujin's 'Traffic Light', Yoon Jong-shin's 'Good', MC The Max's 'Anywhere', Tophyun's 'Horangsuwolga', and Paul Kim's 'Every Day, Every Moment' ranked sixth to tenth respectively.
Younha's 'Event Horizon', a 'chart reversal' hit song that swept the music scene in the second half of this year, topped the December monthly chart. Among idol songs, IVE's 'LOVE DIVE', NewJeans' 'Hype Boy', and (G)I-DLE's 'TOMBOY' were found to be popular in karaoke.
Geumyoung Entertainment explained, "Analyzing the top 100 karaoke chart songs, 95% were existing songs and 5% were new songs, indicating that existing songs received steady love compared to new songs released this year." They added, "By genre, ballads accounted for 52%, rock 18%, trot 12%, and dance 9%, showing that ballads overwhelmingly received great love."
