US UN Mission: North Korea-Russia Arms Trade Information to Be Submitted to UN Sanctions Committee Early Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] The United States is reportedly set to submit information related to arms transactions between North Korea and Russia to the UN Security Council's North Korea Sanctions Committee early next year.
According to Voice of America (VOA) on the 29th, the US Mission to the United Nations responded to VOA's email inquiry about arms transactions between North Korea and Russia by stating, "We plan to provide information to the 1718 Committee, the North Korea Sanctions Committee, early next year."
Earlier, the White House announced on the 22nd that North Korea sold weapons to Wagner Group, a Russian private military company. John Kirby, White House National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications, said, "Last month, North Korea delivered rockets and missiles intended for use by the Wagner Group to Russia."

Linda Thomas-Greenfield, US Ambassador to the UN, also issued a statement expressing concern that "Wagner's purchase of North Korean weapons provides funds that could be used by North Korea to further develop banned weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles, contributing to instability on the Korean Peninsula."
