A man in his 60s attempted self-immolation at Jamsil Station Line 8 underground shopping mall... transported to hospital
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] A man in his 60s who set himself on fire in the underground shopping mall at Jamsil Station was injured and transported to a hospital.
At around 5:17 a.m. on the 29th, Mr. A (68) set himself on fire in the underground first-floor shopping area near Exit 9 of Line 8 at Jamsil Station in Songpa-gu, Seoul. The fire prompted the dispatch of 116 firefighters and 10 police officers. The fire was extinguished within 24 minutes.
It is presumed that Mr. A attempted an extreme act by pouring a flammable substance on himself and self-immolating. He suffered severe burns on his face and received cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before being transported to the hospital.
