The county purchased a total of 24,229 tons of public stockpiled rice and market isolation grains this year. This is 2.3 times the amount of 10,466 tons of public stockpiled rice purchased last year.
This purchase achieved 99.9% of the originally planned amount of 24,243 tons, and in response to requests from local farmers, varieties such as Ilmi, Saecheongmu, and Gangdaechan were additionally expanded.
The county analyzed that 98% of the total purchase volume was rated as first grade or higher, the highest quality, which is expected to greatly contribute to increasing farmers' income.
The purchase price was set at 64,530 KRW for first grade based on the nationwide average rice price at production sites during the harvest season. The final settlement payment, excluding the advance interim payment (30,000 KRW per 40kg), will be paid by the end of the year.
