Gokseong-gun Out-of-School Youth Support Center Receives Youth Blue Growth Award
Efforts Recognized for Improving Negative Image of Out-of-School Youth
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cha Jong-sun] The Gokseong-gun School Out-of-School Youth Support Center in Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced on the 27th that it received the Minister's Award at the 18th Youth Blue Growth Awards hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family at the Seoul International Youth Center on the 20th.
The Youth Blue Growth Awards are given to adults, organizations, youth, and youth clubs who have contributed to the healthy growth of youth.
The Minister's Award in the Adult-Organization category is awarded to organizations that have devotedly contributed to the proper growth of youth.
The Gokseong-gun School Out-of-School Youth Support Center provides customized services such as learning, counseling, specialized programs, and health checkups reflecting the needs of out-of-school youth.
It was also recognized for its efforts to improve the negative image of out-of-school youth every year.
In 2019, it established the Da-eol Cooperative, a youth growth platform, to enhance the capabilities of youth.
The center was highly evaluated for creating a foundation for out-of-school youth to achieve social and economic independence and for realizing social values in cooperation with the local community.
A county official said, “This is a valuable achievement of the staff who have tirelessly worked for out-of-school youth and the passionate youth themselves. We will continue to seek various support for out-of-school youth and strive to help them grow into healthy members of society.”
The Gokseong-gun School Out-of-School Youth Support Center is a project supported by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and Gokseong-gun for out-of-school youth aged 9 to 24. It offers various programs to help youth who have dropped out of school regain confidence and nurture their dreams.
