The Small Business Owner of the Month is a newly launched project this year to highlight small business owners who have grown by overcoming difficulties caused by COVID-19. It selects exemplary representatives among small business owners who have management innovation, technology and research development, sales know-how, and have been running their businesses for more than three years. This project is divided into three categories (small business owners, small manufacturers, and traditional market merchants). So far, one person per category was selected in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, totaling six people, and for this 4th quarter, the selection was expanded to two people per category.
Jung Sehoon, CEO of Jaribong Gukbap Suwan Direct Store, who was selected in the small business owner category, implemented non-face-to-face delivery services even before COVID-19. Thanks to this prompt response, he was recognized for increasing sales by expanding the nationwide sales of competitive meal kit products.
The second small business owner selected, Jo Juhwal, CEO of Okryugwan Myeonok, was recognized for increasing sales by differentiating from other companies through consistently maintaining the store’s unique thin and chewy noodles and refreshing broth.
Shin Jiwoon, CEO of KS, selected in the small manufacturer category, was awarded for his technical excellence recognized through technology transfers from KEPCO KPS, Samsung Electronics, POSCO, etc., based on quality in the transportation equipment field by developing excellent quality packaging.
In addition, Kyun Dooheon, CEO of Kizer, Lee Myunggeun, CEO of Taeyang Sangsa, and Jeon Jaekyung, CEO of Hanbat Sikdang, were also awarded.
