Underwater 'Kkorreu'... Sacheon Coast Guard Rescues Sunken Vessel at Maekjeonpo Port

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] At around 10:06 AM on the 25th, a 2.99-ton vessel sank near the east breakwater of Maekjeonpo Port in Hail-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam.
According to Sacheon Coast Guard on the 26th, the Sacheon Coast Guard Sacheon Substation and Sacheon Rescue Team were dispatched to the scene following a report from the head of the fishing village who discovered the vessel completely submerged.
At around 3 PM that day, the Coast Guard used a land crane to pull the vessel above the water surface and pumped out the water inside the ship using a bilge pump.
The salvaged vessel was moored again near the east breakwater of Maekjeonpo Port and was lifted into the harbor at around 2 PM on the following day, the 26th.

The Sacheon Coast Guard stated, “Although the hull was submerged, there was no marine pollution caused by oil leaking from inside the ship, nor were there any casualties.”
