Citizens Choose This Year’s ‘Top 10 Busan Port News’ … Busan Port Authority, Online Voting
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Port Authority (BPA) selected the ‘Top 10 News of Busan Port in 2022’ through an online citizen vote.
The citizen vote was conducted online from the 13th to the 19th, targeting 20 news items selected by BPA from among about 360 news reports related to Busan Port reported in the media this year. More than 4,000 citizens participated in the vote.
The voting results showed that citizens’ interest was focused on news related to logistics and port redevelopment projects.
The top 10 major news items included ‘Avoided logistics crisis by utilizing internal roads of Busan New Port,’ ‘Bukhang waterfront space returned to Busan citizens after 146 years,’ and ‘Netherlands Rotterdam logistics center begins full operation.’
‘Full-scale establishment of Busan Port 2050 Carbon Neutral Comprehensive Plan’ and ‘Preparation for the Serious Accident Punishment Act through the introduction of new safety technologies’ were also selected as major news, reflecting citizens’ increased interest in environment and safety.
