Gwangju University Interior Design Department Wins 4 Awards at National Competition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Department of Interior Design at Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) is standing out in nationwide competitions.
Gwangju University announced on the 26th that it won one Special Prize, one Excellence Award, and two Honorable Mentions in the Interior Coordination category at the 15th Spatial Design Competition.
This competition was hosted by the monthly magazine Interni & Decor and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Under the theme "Space, the Difference Between Beauty and Beautiful Things," a total of 498 works were submitted, recording a high level of competition.
The third-year students Lee Hyunbin, Ji Hyunwoo, and Heo Daesung, who received the Special Prize, submitted the work titled "Love yourself: A Complex Cultural Space for Internal and External Growth."
Also, third-year students Yang Taeyeol, Kim Jimin, and Choi Jinhan, who submitted "H:idea Hospice, Healing with Light," won the Excellence Award.
The works "Barim: MR-based Complex Cultural Healing Space" by third-year students Ha Yubin, Moon Minji, and Jo Yumi, and "Closer, Even Closer: A Wellness Center Approaching Recovery" by third-year students Jo Sohyun, Lee Kyungjun, and Kim Jichan each received Honorable Mentions.

Professor Kim Minkyeong of Gwangju University's Department of Interior Design said, "The efforts of the third-year students have yielded good results in the form of awards," adding, "I will do my best to guide future juniors so that they can achieve good results in competitions on even bigger stages."
