New COVID-19 Cases at 25,545, Decrease from Last Week... 583 Severe Cases (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Byeon Seon-jin] The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 26th at midnight that 25,545 new COVID-19 cases were added, bringing the total to 28,684,600.
The number of new cases decreased by 32,903 compared to the previous day (58,448) due to reduced testing over the weekend. It also decreased by 1,063 compared to a week ago on the 19th (26,608). The number of new cases has been declining for three consecutive days compared to the previous week.
The number of critically ill patients hospitalized was 583, down by 9 from the previous day, which recorded the highest in over four months. The number of critically ill patients has remained in the 500s for nine consecutive days.
There were 42 additional COVID-19 related deaths reported. The cumulative death toll stands at 31,832, with a fatality rate of 0.11%.
