Samsung Heavy Industries Wins 160 Billion KRW Contract for Samsung Electronics Semiconductor Plant Construction
Pyeongtaek Semiconductor Factory P4L Ph1
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 26th through a public disclosure that it has secured part of the construction project for Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek semiconductor plant (P4L Ph1).
The contract amount is 168.3 billion KRW, which corresponds to 2.5% of the 2021 sales revenue.
With this contract, Samsung Heavy Industries has increased the cumulative order amount for the Pyeongtaek semiconductor plant construction project this year to 976.2 billion KRW. This reflects efforts to diversify its business beyond the shipbuilding and offshore sectors.

The Pyeongtaek semiconductor plant is a project by Samsung Electronics to build six semiconductor production lines (P1L~P6L) and auxiliary buildings in phases by 2030 on a 2.89 million square meter (approximately 870,000 pyeong) site. Samsung Heavy Industries is currently constructing P3L.
