View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] Samsung announced on the 25th that major affiliates including Samsung Electronics will hold a 'Donation Fair' until early next month, where employees can choose the company's CSR programs they want to donate to next year and pledge donation amounts.
Since mid-this month, major Samsung affiliates have sent out notification emails under the name of each company's social contribution team leader to promote the 'Donation Fair.' An internal intranet corner called 'Practice of Sharing and Coexistence, Samsung CSR,' where employees can donate, has also been opened.
For example, Samsung Electronics introduced the business details and major achievements of this year for Samsung's representative CSR programs such as ▲Samsung Youth SW Academy (SSAFY) ▲Samsung Hope Bridge ▲Samsung Dream Class ▲Samsung Junior SW Academy ▲Blue Elephant in the 'Practice of Sharing and Coexistence, Samsung CSR' corner.
Employees can select which CSR program they want to donate to next year based on this information. After entering the desired amount, the donation will be automatically deducted from their monthly salary.
Since establishing the employee personal donation system in 2010, Samsung has been operating a 'matching grant' where the company supports the same amount as the employee's donation to the respective CSR program on a 1:1 basis. The total amount donated by Samsung employees and matched by the company has accumulated to 583.9 billion KRW since 2011.
