Namwon-si Receives 'Institutional Commendation' in Agricultural Food Subsidy Management Sector

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 22nd that it received an institutional commendation in the ‘2022 Agricultural and Food Subsidy Management Efficiency Promotion Sector’ for its contribution to improving the execution and management efficiency of agricultural and food subsidy projects and enhancing agricultural and food project information.

The awarded institutions include three local governments: Namwon City, Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province, and Hadong County in Gyeongsangnam Province.

The city established its own subsidy project implementation guidelines in the agricultural sector to enhance transparency and fairness in subsidy management, setting detailed standards for project promotion, selection of subsidy recipients, execution management, project settlement, and post-management.

Additionally, by operating the agricultural subsidy project management system, project information was databased to verify duplicate applications and delinquent records, select eligible project recipients, and improve the efficiency of subsidy project management including project plans, execution details, and settlement reports.

Since 2013, the city has published 1,000 copies annually of a subsidy project guidebook in the agriculture, forestry, livestock, and food sector, distributing it to eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare centers, agricultural-related affiliated organizations, ri/tong, and natural villages, providing guidance on subsidy application methods and key subsidy management contents.

Before project implementation, the city thoroughly conducts education and promotion for subsidy recipients through project briefings covering project implementation methods, subsidy management system usage, and key subsidy management standards.

A city official stated, “The city is conducting over 170 subsidy projects in the agriculture, forestry, livestock, and food sectors, and since a huge budget is supported, we will do our best to ensure that project implementation aligns with the purpose and procedures of the support projects through transparent subsidy project management.”
