From Hydrogen to CCUS... SK E&S Unveils New Technologies at 'CES'
Global Business Partners Joint Participation
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] SK E&S announced on the 22nd that it will participate in the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition, 'CES 2023,' held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 5 to 8 next year.
Participating in CES for the second time following this year, SK E&S plans to unveil various carbon reduction solutions in the energy sector, including hydrogen, energy solutions, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), presenting new alternatives for a sustainable future.
SK E&S, responsible for hydrogen business within SK Group, will co-exhibit with its global hydrogen business partner, the US-based Plug Power, at 'CES 2023.' SK E&S will display the actual hydrogen fuel cell 'GenDrive' and hydrogen dispenser 'GenFuel Dispenser' produced by Plug Power. GenDrive is an integrated package type that can be easily installed in the battery room of existing battery-powered electric forklifts, making it applicable to various models.

View original imageAt this exhibition, SK E&S will also introduce CCUS technology, regarded as a key to opening the low-carbon LNG era, through large-scale video content. They plan to apply carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology to the Barossa gas field development project underway in Australia to capture and remove carbon dioxide generated during natural gas production and to apply CCS in the future blue hydrogen production process.
An SK E&S official said, "SK E&S will continue to promote effective carbon reduction through technological advancement in various energy business areas such as hydrogen, energy solutions, and LNG," adding, "We will continuously strengthen low-carbon-based business models and contribute practically to achieving global carbon neutrality goals."
