Hamyang-gun to Hold 'Jeya Bell' Ringing and New Year's Sunrise Event After 3 Years
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 22nd that it will hold a New Year's Eve bell-ringing ceremony and a New Year's sunrise event to welcome the Year of the Rabbit after bidding farewell to the Year of the Tiger.
This event, which prays for the wishes and happiness of the residents and the development of the county, will be held for the first time in three years due to COVID-19.
The New Year's Eve bell-ringing ceremony, hosted by the Hamyang Lotus Lions Club, will take place at the county bell pavilion from 11:00 PM on December 31 to 12:30 AM on January 1. Starting with a pre-ceremony event, 33 participants including 25 heads of institutions and social organizations and 8 general residents will ring the bell, followed by a New Year's message and greetings.
Hamyang-gun is accepting public recommendations for 8 residents to participate in the New Year's Eve bell-ringing ceremony until the 26th. Any resident aged 12 or older with an address in the county who has elevated the county's prestige, given hope to others through acts of sharing, overcome adversity to raise exemplary children, or is a courageous citizen who has worked for social justice and attracted attention can be recommended.
Additionally, the Hamyang Lions Club will host a New Year's sunrise event at the summit of Baegamsan Mountain from 7:00 AM on January 1, praying for the wishes and happiness of the residents and the development and prosperity of the county.
After starting with a peace prayer ceremony, reading messages of hope, and making wishes for the New Year of the Rabbit, a rice cake soup sharing feast will be held at the Dosan Village Hall to exchange New Year's greetings.
