Hyundai Green Food, First in Food Industry to Receive 'Health-Friendly Company' Certification
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seohee] Comprehensive food company Hyundai Green Food announced on the 21st that it has become the first company in the domestic food industry to receive the 'Health-Friendly Company' certification from the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
This certification was awarded in recognition of Hyundai Green Food's efforts to create a health-friendly working environment and culture. Along with this, Hyundai Green Food was selected as an excellent company and will also receive a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.
The Health-Friendly Company certification is granted by the government to companies that contribute to and support the health promotion of their employees. The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Promotion Institute piloted this certification last year as part of an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management evaluation. Hyundai Green Food is the first company to be selected as a Health-Friendly Company.
Hyundai Green Food explained that it was selected as a Health-Friendly Company by receiving high scores in four areas: health-friendly management, health-friendly culture, health-friendly activities, and employee satisfaction.
Since 2020, Hyundai Green Food has been conducting various activities to establish a healthy management culture. It reorganized its safety and health management organization composed of professionals within the company and annually allocates a budget for health-friendly programs at the company-wide level, conducting employee health programs such as smoking cessation, dieting, and healthy meal plans. Additionally, through nutrition counseling services based on eating habits, it checks health status and provides personalized healthy meal plans for conditions such as diabetes and dieting.
