Dr. Seong Han-gi Appointed as New President of Daegu Catholic University ... 4-Year Term Starting Next Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] Dr. Seong Han-gi (65) has been appointed as the new president of Daegu Catholic University.
The school foundation Seonmok Hakwon (Chairman Jo Hwan-gil, Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Daegu) announced, "The university board held a meeting on the 20th and appointed Dr. Seong Han-gi as the 28th president of Daegu Catholic University." The term is four years starting from January 1, 2023, and the inauguration ceremony will be held on January 11 next year at the university auditorium.

President Seong graduated from Gyeongbuk High School and the Department of Industrial Psychology at Sungkyunkwan University, and earned a Ph.D. in Literature from the Department of Psychology at the same university. After being appointed as a professor in the Department of Psychology at Daegu Catholic University in 1990, he has held various positions including Director of Admissions, Director of Academic Affairs, Dean of Graduate School, and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and has been acting president since last September. In 2007, he served as president of the Korean Society for Social and Personality Psychology.
