Putin: "The Situation in the Annexed Regions of Ukraine is Extremely Complex"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] President Vladimir Putin described the situation in the Ukrainian annexed regions as "extremely complex" and ordered the strengthening of border security.
On the 21st (local time), according to major foreign media, President Putin stated that the Russian military is facing difficulties in the four Ukrainian annexed regions occupied by Russia. Russia had previously occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia in Ukraine.
President Putin told the National Security Council, "The Russian citizens living there rely on your protection," emphasizing, "It is your duty to guarantee their safety, rights, and freedoms."
He also ordered the blocking of threats such as community control and foreign intelligence agencies.

President Putin urged, "We must focus as much as possible on counterintelligence activities such as preventing military espionage," adding, "It is important to strongly crack down on Western intelligence agency activities and quickly identify traitors, spies, and others."
