Gwangju Chamber of Commerce, Future Core Technology Convergence Package Support Project Performance Promotion Meeting
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry held the ‘2022 Future Core Technology Convergence Package Support Project Performance Promotion Meeting’ on the 19th in the main conference room.
This promotion meeting was conducted as part of the Gwangju Job Creation Innovation Project supported by Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office, with about 40 attendees including executives and employees of promising companies in Gwangju and related institution officials.
The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced that this year it provided support for new technology convergence, new business entry, marketing, and market development to 43 companies, achieving a sales increase of 3 billion KRW in related fields and creating 62 new jobs.
According to the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this promotion meeting was held to share and spread the excellent achievements of the ‘Future Core Technology Convergence Package Support Project’ and proceeded in the order of ▲support project performance report ▲presentation of cases of intensive corporate support for future core technology convergence ▲presentation of best cases (public market consulting, new business introduction technology support, market development support, AI competition) ▲discussion on next year’s project direction.
In particular, companies participating in the core technology convergence intensive corporate support project are promoting product commercialization, companies participating in public market consulting recorded several hundred million KRW in public procurement contract achievements, and companies supported to participate in exhibitions and fairs are on the verge of signing large-scale contracts, attracting attention with many excellent cases introduced.
Also, a representative of a company that won an excellence award at the AI Test-Bed Korea Industrial Intelligence Competition in this project expressed gratitude to the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, saying, “After winning the award, a leading domestic large corporation investor showed interest and is conducting investment-related meetings, and we signed a business agreement related to investment and entry into the U.S. with the Federation of Korean American Chambers of Commerce, making this project an opportunity to be recognized for AI technology capabilities.”
Chae Hwa-seok, Executive Director of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “This year, through projects such as in-depth surveys and mentoring seminars to raise awareness of new technology convergence and new business introduction for local companies, and intensive corporate support for core technology convergence, new business items were discovered, production processes and products were advanced, and many contracts were concluded, achieving the intended results.” He added, “Since this year is the final year of this project, we have strengthened marketing and market development support projects such as public market consulting, e-brochure production support, BtoB promotional meetings, and exhibition participation support to complete a full-cycle support system.”

Meanwhile, since 2019, the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been promoting the promising companies’ future core technology convergence package support project for the past four years together with Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office to gradually support new technology convergence and new business entry of local small and medium enterprises.
