Gwangju Seo-gu Receives 'Minister of the Interior and Safety Award' at Korea Knowledge Awards
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim I-gang) announced on the 19th that it received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award in the Knowledge Administration (administrative agency) category at the 11th Korea Knowledge Awards ceremony held on the 16th.
Seo-gu set the goals of knowledge administration as Collaboration ON!, Civil Service UP! and was highly evaluated for initiatives such as operating the online communication platform Seo-gu Toktok, forming policy development research groups, activating collaboration including communication and cooperation, and operating the collaboration mileage system.
The Korea Knowledge Awards, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, began in 2012 and marked its 11th event this year. Every year, it evaluates the knowledge administration (management) systems, knowledge activities, and performance outcomes of administrative agencies, public institutions, and private companies to discover and award excellent cases of knowledge activities.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety selected 11 outstanding institutions in the knowledge administration field through a first round of expert evaluation and a second round of online public voting, and Seo-gu was the only institution in Gwangju to receive the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.
Mayor Kim I-gang of Seo-gu said, “We will not be satisfied with this year’s achievements but will strive harder to maximize the effects of creative and practical knowledge activities to improve administrative services and policy quality, thereby enhancing resident satisfaction.”
