Wando-gun Selects 2 Outstanding Public Officials for Active Administration in the Second Half of the Year

[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do held the ‘Active Administration Review Committee’ and selected two outstanding public officials for active administration in the second half of 2022.

Outstanding public officials for active administration refer to those who actively handle tasks based on creativity and expertise for the public interest, and the county selects outstanding public officials to promote the spread of active administration.

As a result of the final review, Team Leader Jo Gang-cheol of the Economic and Transportation Division and Officer Park So-young of the Health Promotion Division were selected.

Team Leader Jo Gang-cheol of the Economic and Transportation Division contributed to resolving transportation inconveniences for residents by establishing a new bus route between Geumdang and Nokdong, Goheung, after residents of Geumdang-myeon had to rush due to mismatched ferry and bus schedules when visiting Nokdong, Goheung, resulting in waiting times of over an hour.

Officer Park So-young of the Health Promotion Division resolved numerous complaints caused by a mentally ill patient with schizophrenia who had no guardian by contacting the patient’s family living overseas, arranging hospital admission, and providing welfare services such as treatment cost support.

The county provides incentives to outstanding public officials for active administration, including cash rewards, one grade increase in performance bonuses, additional points (0.3 points) in work performance evaluations, and three days of reward leave.

Kang Seong-woon, Deputy Governor of Wando and chairman of the Active Administration Review Committee, said, “A culture of active administration that can practically help residents must spread,” and added, “I hope all public officials take the lead in realizing active administration to become an administration trusted by the residents.”
