In Muan, snow began falling heavily from the night of the 17th, with the highest snowfall recorded at 19.8 cm in Haeje-myeon as of 7 a.m. on the 19th.
On that day, the county postponed the weekly Monday executive meeting and issued an emergency call for public officials starting at 8 a.m.
About 800 employees from various departments, including County Governor Kim San, conducted snow removal operations on major roads and alleys, doing their utmost to ensure the safety of residents.
Governor Kim encouraged the public officials and residents who promptly engaged in snow removal, stating, “The county will continue to monitor weather conditions and minimize residents’ inconveniences through rapid snow removal operations. Since more snow is forecasted, we ask everyone to participate in clearing snow in front of their homes and shops.”
Meanwhile, on the 17th, the county deployed 10 snow removal vehicles to clear major roads and vulnerable sections, and spread a total of 449 tons of de-icing agents, including 380 tons of salt and 69 tons of calcium chloride, focusing all efforts on immediate snow removal response.
