Exchange, Opening Ceremony of the Frankfurt Office in Germany
The Third Overseas Office Following China and Singapore
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The Korea Exchange has opened an overseas office in Frankfurt, Germany, following China and Singapore.
On the morning of the 15th (local time), the Korea Exchange announced that it held the opening ceremony of the 'KRX Frankfurt Office' at Sofitel Frankfurt Opera in Germany.
The Frankfurt office will be responsible for regulatory response tasks within the EU region for Korea's representative indices such as KOSPI 200, and plans to actively build networks with regional exchanges and financial institutions.
Son Byung-doo, Chairman of the Korea Exchange, stated, "With the opening of the Frankfurt office, we plan to pursue EU BMR (Benchmark Regulation) certification for our representative indices with European financial authorities next year, thereby facilitating convenience for European investors investing in the Korean capital market."

Meanwhile, the opening ceremony was attended by Ko Kyung-seok, Consul General in Frankfurt, Michael Peters, CEO of EUREX, as well as representatives from over 20 global exchanges and index providers including London Stock Exchange Group, S&P Dow Jones, MSCI, Qontigo, FactSet, and Morningstar.
