Daegu Buk-gu Gwaneum-dong and Hwawon Seolhwa-ri Selected for Urban Regeneration Projects... 53 Billion KRW Invested Over 4 Years
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] Daegu City announced on the 15th that two sites, ‘Happy Gwaneum (觀音) with Pets’ in Gwaneum-dong, Buk-gu, and ‘Seolhwa Village Bright as Snowflakes’ in Seolhwa-ri, Hwawon-eup, Dalseong-gun, were selected for the urban regeneration contest hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
A total of 53.1 billion KRW will be invested in the two selected projects by 2026, promoting urban regeneration in a 155,000㎡ declining area.
The ‘Happy Gwaneum with Pets’ project, to be carried out on 100,000㎡ around the Gwaneum public parking lot in Gwaneum-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu, will be implemented with a budget of 44.5 billion KRW. It involves remodeling the aging senior park and building pet facilities in the village public parking lot. Additionally, about 50 surrounding houses will be extensively renovated.
The ‘Seolhwa Village Bright as Snowflakes’ project, carried out on 55,019㎡ around the Seolhwa 1-ri community center in Seolhwa-ri, Hwawon-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu, will be implemented with a budget of 8.5 billion KRW. It includes remodeling the existing park, constructing a new village community center, and renovating 44 houses.
Urban regeneration projects are already underway in 22 locations in Daegu.
