Korea Arts & Culture Committee Announces Open Recruitment for 8th Term Committee Candidates
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 15th that it is publicly recruiting candidates for the 8th term of the Korea Arts Council (hereinafter referred to as the Arts Council).
Through this recruitment, the Ministry plans to appoint members in five fields: literature, fine arts, theater, traditional arts, and general culture. The application period will run until 6 p.m. on the 26th.
Eligibility requirements include those who have worked for more than 10 years in cultural and artistic creation, research planning, and administration, or those who have been active for more than 10 years in cultural and artistic organizations, as well as those who have worked for more than 10 years in specialized fields such as law, education, media, and economics, and possess insight into culture and the arts. The appointment period is three years from the date of appointment.
Established under Article 20 of the "Cultural Arts Promotion Act," the Arts Council supports projects and activities for the promotion of culture and the arts. The Arts Council members (non-standing) deliberate and resolve major matters such as the establishment and modification of basic project plans and the establishment and implementation of committee operation plans to ensure the smooth execution of the institution's roles.
The public recruitment announcement can be found on the websites of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Council. Individuals wishing to apply can submit their applications by visit, mail, or email. The results of the recruitment will be announced on the Ministry’s website in early January 2023.
