Lee Jung-jae, 'Actor Who Shined This Year' Ranks 1st for 2 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Iseul] Lee Jung-jae has been ranked number one as the 'Movie Actor Who Shined This Year.'
According to a survey by Gallup Korea on the 14th, Lee Jung-jae, who received 34.4% support among 1,771 respondents, was selected as the most active movie actor of the year for the second consecutive year. Lee Jung-jae debuted in the drama 'Gongryong Teacher' (1993) and appeared in 'Sandglass' (1995), the films 'New World' (2013), and 'Assassination' (2015). Last year, he rose to global stardom by playing the lead role in the Netflix series 'Squid Game.' This year, he was invited to the Cannes Film Festival with 'Hunt,' which he directed and starred in, and recently filmed Disney+'s new Star Wars series 'Acolyte.'
In second place was actor Ma Dong-seok with 18.8%. He gained popularity by playing detective Ma Seok-do in the film 'The Outlaws 2,' which attracted 10 million viewers. Song Kang-ho, who won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival last May for 'Broker' (directed by Koreeda Hirokazu), ranked third with 13.5% support. Song Kang-ho also starred in 'Emergency Declaration,' released last summer.
Youn Yuh-jung took fourth place. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress last year for 'Minari' (directed by Lee Isaac Chung) and delivered a powerful performance as the elderly Sunja in Apple TV+'s 'Pachinko.'

Hwang Jung-min from the Netflix series 'Suriname' and Jung Woo-sung from the film 'Hunt' tied for fifth place (6.5%). Lee Byung-hun of 'Emergency Declaration' (6.0%) ranked seventh, while Hyun Bin (5.5%) and Yoo Hae-jin (5.2%) from 'Confidential Assignment 2: International' ranked eighth and ninth, respectively. Son Seok-gu from 'The Outlaws 2' (5.0%) was included in tenth place. Following them were Ha Jung-woo (4.4%), Kim Hye-soo (3.1%), Park Hae-il (2.1%), Choi Min-sik (1.9%), Gong Yoo (1.8%), Han Suk-kyu (1.3%), and Ahn Sung-ki (1.2%).
