New COVID-19 Cases 84,571... Severe and Critical Patients 463 (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Byun Seon-jin] The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 14th at midnight that 84,571 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, bringing the total to 27,925,572.
The number of new cases decreased by 2,281 compared to the previous day (86,852). It is 9,874 more than a week ago on the 7th (74,697). The infection reproduction number stands at 1.04, remaining above 1 for eight consecutive weeks. A value above 1 indicates the spread of the epidemic.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized increased by 3 to 463 compared to the previous day.
There were 46 new COVID-19 related deaths reported. The cumulative death toll is 31,174, with a fatality rate of 0.11%.
As of midnight, the winter vaccination rate is 26.0% for those aged 60 and over, and 41.3% for residents of infection-vulnerable facilities.
