'Jemulpo Renaissance Becomes the Path of Incheon'... Incheon World City Brand Forum to be Held on the 15th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Experts gather in one place to discover the urban value of Incheon and to achieve effective city branding.
Incheon City will hold the "2022 Incheon World City Brand Forum" online on the 15th under the theme "Jemulpo Renaissance, Becoming the Road of Incheon."
At the forum, opinions from urban and brand experts as well as citizens will be heard and discussed regarding ways to enhance city competitiveness by utilizing the city's history and cultural assets. Starting with a keynote speech and special talks, presentations and discussions will take place in four sessions.
The first session, titled "Urban Transformation and New Roles," will feature a keynote speech by Kent Larson, head of MIT Media Lab's City Science, and a special talk with Incheon Mayor Yoo Jung-bok about innovative urban changes and city competitiveness.
The second session will have Lee Je-seok, CEO of Lee Je-seok Advertising Research Institute, presenting "Place Branding Cases Using Abandoned Urban Spaces (idle spaces such as overpasses, ports, abandoned factories, building rooftops) and Urban Re-creation Plans."
The third session, involving comedians Kim Seung-hye and Nam Chang-hee along with Incheon citizens, is designed as a fun time to freely discuss various topics about the city of Incheon.
The final session, which will present and discuss the Jemulpo Renaissance, includes Professor Kim Kyung-bae of Incheon University presenting "Changes in Jemulpo and Urban Re-creation Plans," Professor Park Chang-ho of Sehan University and Professor Shin Il-gi of Incheon Catholic University presenting "Economic Free Zone and Harbor City" and "Plans to Combine Jemulpo with Urban Regeneration Projects," respectively.
Following this, Professor Jang Dong-min of Cheongwoon University, CEO Park Sang-hoon of Stone Brand Communications, and Ryu Yoon-gi, head of the Jemulpo Renaissance Planning Team of the city, will participate in a discussion session.

An official from Incheon City stated, "Beyond a stiff and boring presentation-style forum, we will provide a feeling similar to watching an educational program by utilizing interviews and videos," and added, "We hope this forum will be a time to confirm new changes and directions for Incheon."
