The number of new cases on this day was the highest in 90 days since September 14 (93,949 cases). It increased by 61,185 compared to the previous day (25,667 cases), reflecting the impact of reduced testing during the holiday. It is 9,262 more than a week ago on the 6th (77,590 cases) and 15,392 more than two weeks ago on the 29th of last month (71,460 cases).
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized is 460, which is 18 fewer than the previous day.
There were 29 new COVID-19 related deaths reported. The cumulative death toll stands at 31,128, with a fatality rate of 0.11%.
