Dongseo University Selected as Operating Institution for Work-Learning Parallel Advanced Industry Academy Project... Receives 2.1 Billion KRW Support Over 3 Years
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dongseo University has been selected as an operating institution for the ‘Work-Learning Dual System Advanced Industry Academy Project’ organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, receiving support of up to 2.1 billion KRW. The project is scheduled to operate from March 2023 to February 2026.
The Work-Learning Dual System Advanced Industry Academy Project supports 38 NCS-based Level 5 training courses in nationally certified occupations such as information and communication technology and semiconductor fields, selecting excellent operating institutions among universities currently running the existing Work-Learning Dual System project.
Dongseo University was recognized for its existing Work-Learning Dual System operational achievements and its operational plan for cultivating highly skilled talent in advanced industry fields, and was selected as one of approximately 12 operating institutions nationwide, receiving up to 2.1 billion KRW over the next three years.
In the first year, the university plans to gradually expand training courses in the information and communication and bio fields based on software development, focusing on fostering Meister talents by integrating employment with graduate school rather than simple employment.
Dongseo University is continuously producing local talent centered on the IPP-type Work-Learning Dual System Joint Training Center, aiming to establish a youth employment process by building a cooperative ecosystem among companies, students, and the university.
Additionally, the university is achieving various forms of industry-academia cooperation such as customized pinpoint solutions tailored to corporate demand and leading corporate customized consulting, and is expected to play a pioneering role in supplying advanced industry high-level personnel in the region as an Advanced Industry Academy.

Song Kang-young, head of the IPP-type Work-Learning Dual System Project Group, said, “We will work together with university members to create synergy between the existing Work-Learning Dual System project and the Advanced Industry Academy project,” adding, “Over the next five years, we will put more effort into improving the quality of the Work-Learning Dual System and establishing an excellent model of industry-academia cooperation.”
