[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] UNIST has established itself as a hub for ‘university laboratory-based technology startups,’ supporting the discovery of research achievements in laboratories as technology commercialization items and advancing them to the startup stage.
UNIST will hold a joint performance presentation with the Southeast Region Laboratory Startup Innovation Group in Gijang, Busan, over two days on the 9th and 10th.
The presentation will be attended by 13 laboratories participating in the Laboratory Startup Leading University project and 15 graduate school laboratories from seven universities in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions participating in the Southeast Region Laboratory Startup Innovation Group project, sharing their commercialization achievements so far and seeking ways to develop further together.
Earlier, on the 2nd, UNIST held a joint demo day for promising laboratory startup technology teams in the Yeongnam region together with DGIST.
A total of 25 promising laboratory startup technology teams from DGIST and UNIST participated in the event, and among them, a technology and business feasibility evaluation was conducted for a total of eight teams, four from each university, focusing on their startup items.
The event also involved private investment firms such as Hyundai Technology Investment, Bluepoint Partners, AJU IB Investment, Pathfinder H, and POSTECH Holdings, as well as law firms like Delight Law Firm and Unison Patent Firm, who participated alongside evaluation judges to provide investment consultations and commercialization consulting.
