Korea Airports Corporation Successfully Hosts 'Airport Innovate' in Busan

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 7th that it successfully secured the hosting of the '2025 Airports Innovate' event in Busan at the 34th International Civil Aviation Organization (ACI) Asia-Pacific Regional Board meeting held in Muscat, Oman.
Airports Innovate is a gathering of global airport and aviation industry stakeholders to exchange innovations, strategies, and new technologies in the airport and aviation sectors. It is a forum to discuss future growth and development. This large-scale international event is held annually, rotating through the Middle East, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific regions.
The Corporation views it as very important to establish Gimhae Airport, a representative regional airport, on the global stage to realize the glocal management strategy for the globalization of regional airports. To attract the 2025 event to Busan, it submitted a proposal to the ACI Asia-Pacific office last August and actively engaged in promotional activities.
President Hyungjoong Yoon expressed the Corporation’s intention to host the event through successive meetings with the Secretary General of the ACI Asia-Pacific office and the World Secretary General. He also sought interest and support from global airport and aviation stakeholders at the East Asia Airports Alliance (EAAA) executive meeting and the Beijing Global CEO Forum.
On the 6th (local time), the ACI Asia-Pacific Executive Committee, gathered in Muscat, the capital of Oman, officially announced Busan as the host city for the '2025 Airports Innovate' event.

President Yoon said, “Through the successful hosting of the 2025 event in Busan, we will provide insights that will further advance the global aviation industry,” adding, “We will present a new vision for future airports in Busan, Korea, and showcase smart airports and Urban Air Mobility (UAM).”
