No Budget Waste... Gyeongnam Province Conducts On-site Inspection of 2022 Resident Participatory Budget Projects
157 Projects Implemented This Year, Deadline Until the 16th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gyeongsangnam-do is inspecting whether there is any budget waste in the 2022 Resident Participatory Budget Reflection Projects from the 5th to the 16th of this month.
During this on-site inspection, they will check ▲whether residents' demands are reflected ▲the purpose and effectiveness of the projects ▲compliance with budget execution legality ▲whether any complaints have arisen, and listen to difficulties such as resident inconveniences during the project implementation process to identify cases of budget waste.
According to the province, the on-site inspection team consists of 12 Gyeongsangnam-do Resident Participatory Budget Committee members who participated in project selection and 35 members of the Budget Proper Use Citizen Monitoring Group.
For enhanced expertise and effective inspection, they will also receive prior training from specialized institutions.
The inspection targets a total of 157 sites, including 18 sites implementing provincial government participation projects, 29 sites linked between the province and cities/counties, 7 youth participation sites, totaling 54 citizen-led sites, and 103 region-led sites.
The province plans to select on-site inspection targets mainly focusing on places where progress is insufficient after the first written inspection, areas with significant project effects, and regions with high resident interest.
